Clean dishes, happy planet, no sketchy ingredients. Store-bought dishwasher pods are convenient… but why do they cost more than an actual dinner some days? These homemade pods are simple, effective, and give you that smug “I made it myself” satisfaction every time the dishwasher hums to life.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups washing soda
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 3 tbsp salt
  • Water (just enough to make it stick)
  • Optional: a few drops of lemon or orange essential oil

‍ Directions:

  1. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Add water slowly until it clumps like wet sand.
  3. Press into silicone molds (ice cube trays work!).
  4. Let dry for 24 hours, then pop them out and store in an airtight container.

TMRT Tip: These work great in a pinch for scrubbing sinks too. Double duty = double savings.
